At Kauvery Hospital, our department is always striving to improve the quality of treatment we deliver to patients. Patients who have suffered major trauma as a result of accidents, strokes, or other traumas may require critical care therapy. Patients who have had major surgery require critical care as well. The Department of Critical Treatment and ICU is comprised of cutting-edge facilities that provide emergency medical care 24x7 emergency medical care.
The Department of Critical Care and ICU at Kauvery Hospitals caters to the following conditions.
In some situations, an emergency tracheostomy is done for a patient who may require breathing support for a few days. A tube is connected directly from the ventilator to the patient's windpipe during this surgery.
Most of the severely sick patients may require some assistance with their breathing, which is delivered by a ventilator which breaths oxygen into the patient's lungs in the same way as it would occur normally.
Patients with low blood pressure are supported by employing fluid replacement and blood pressure-raising medications. Patients with renal problems are treated using specialised equipment. That gadget functions similarly to the kidney, filtering waste items from the blood. Our Department provides excellent kidney care that is mostly dependent on the type of filtration used, which is known as haemodiafiltration.
When it comes to cardiovascular concerns, certain drugs are prescribed by our intensive care specialists to support heart function. Here are a few procedures done in our department:
