Medical Laboratory Services

The medical lab services at Kauvery Hospitals are extensive and precise. Our staff works 24x7, trying to shorten the time between lab procedures and the generation of reports. We use cutting-edge technology to offer patients affordable, accurate, and quality inpatient and outpatient testing facilities. Our quick turnarounds help patients begin treatment faster and return to good health.

We offer the following medical lab services:

Our Clinical Biochemistry department provides comprehensive clinical lab services in this area by performing quick and accurate analyses of routine and specialized assays. These assays are done on fully automated chemistry analyzers and specialized immuno-analyzers.

Routine tests such as creatinine, glucose, blood, hormones, LFT, and tumor markers, and advanced tests such as HbA1c are also carried out here. The lab executes proficiency testing and performs quality control tests.

This department at Kauvery Hospitals offers various diagnostic services, such as immunology, bacteriology, mycology, serology, and parapsychology. The department carries out these tests:
  • Identifying bacteria and susceptibility testing (MIC)
  • Parasite examination
  • Ova examination
  • Fungal identification
  • Immunology with IFA/ELISA
  • Viral serologic testing

This medical specialty diagnoses diseases based on the microscopic, macroscopic, immunologic, microscopic, biochemical, and molecular examination of tissues and organs.

At Kauvery Hospitals, the virology department identifies viruses in urine, blood, and cerebrospinal fluid specimens. It also conducts tests to check for several kinds of non- cultivable viral agents. This department also offers molecular detection assays for influenza viruses, COV-2, and SARS.

Using coagulometers and automated cell counters, this department conducts tests to check the causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of blood-related disorders. We also check for blood deficiencies such as anemia and abnormalities in blood clotting.

Immunohematology, also known as blood banking, is a branch of hematology that investigates antigen-antibody reactions and related phenomena. It also examines their relationship to blood disorders' pathophysiology and clinical symptoms.

An ANA test detects antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in your blood. Your immune system normally makes antibodies to help you fight infection. In contrast, antinuclear antibodies often attack your body's own tissues — specifically targeting each cell's nucleus.

Active surveillance for prostate cancer is sometimes called expectant management. No cancer treatment is provided during active surveillance for prostate cancer. This means medications, radiation and surgery aren't used. Periodic tests are done to check for signs the cancer is growing.

A skin prick or scratch test performed by an allergist or dermatologist confirms whether the patient has an allergy to certain substances or foods.

A CRP test identifies or monitors inflammation-causing conditions. These are bacterial, bone, or fungal infections, autoimmune disorders, etc.

A complete blood count, also known as a full blood count, is a set of medical laboratory tests that provide information about the cells in a person's blood. The CBC indicates the counts of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets, the concentration of hemoglobin, and the hematocrit.

This test measures the effectiveness of your kidneys in filtering waste products from your blood.

Also called a liver panel, a liver function test is a blood test that provides an overall picture of the liver's health.

This procedure is done with a fine needle to procure cell samples from the body for lab testing. Needle biopsies commonly performed include core needle biopsy and fine-needle aspiration.
