Trauma Care Treatments and Procedures

The Trauma Care Department provides the following procedures.
Advanced emergency airway management
During emergencies in which the airway is fully blocked, cricothyrotomy can establish a patent airway. The goal is to provide adequate oxygen and ventilation as part of the rescue effort.
Basic airway management
This is a procedure performed in emergency situations to prevent airway obstruction and thus providing an open pathway in the patient's lungs.
Mechanical Ventilation
Process where a machine that helps a patient breathe (ventilate) when they are having surgery or cannot breathe on their own due to a critical illness.
Temporary cardiac pacing
This is a process in which a temporary pacemaker is used when the patient is having a change in the heart rate due to heart attacks, surgeries, or any other issues.
Non-invasive ventilation
It refers to the delivery of oxygen to the patient through nasal plugs, or face mask rather than endotracheal tube or tracheostomy.
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) is a group of procedures that treat life-threatening conditions including cardiac arrest, stroke, trauma, and shock.
Basic life support (BLS)
It is performed to support the patient's respiration through cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR until advanced life support arrives.
